I am one such aged father (and Victor aircrew) receiving this as a gift and very welcome it was, too. However, I found it gave rise to mixed emotions: Warm, happy memories of times & friends past along with a degree of frustration over a lack of depth and a bit of a 'spot-hit' approach. Reassuringly, there were no actual inaccuracies, but there was a good deal of 'glossing-over'.
Having said that, what is one to expect when viewing an all-too-short film on such a broad subject, when one was so deeply involved in the subject matter for all of one's working life? Perhaps I should give it full marks as a pleasant reverie of nostalgia?
The film-makers have captured well the context in which we found ourselves flying such beautiful and potent aircraft, and give a good flavour of what they meant to us and the country at the time.
