I really liked this book! I stumbled upon it by accident in the library and am now a new fan of Louise Bagshawe! I am a 30 year old woman, and it just so happens that the main character, Diana, is 30 as well.(Not that it matters, but I always find I can relate to the characters better when the age is similar.) It is the kind of book that I couldn't put down. I usually hate romance novels, and though this has a lot of romance in it, it is also intelligently written with an interesting plot. I especially love how the author is so good at descriptions. I felt like I could picture every place, every piece of clothing, and of course...the characters. I loved the details about the brands of clothes, shoes, purses, etc. It's the kind of life I will never have but it's so much fun to live vicariously through the characters. The thing I didn't like was that the villain...Diana's English husband(ex)...is almost too stupid to believe. How can he be in a position of such wealth and power yet be this clueless? But, overlooking that...it was good. There is a lot of sex, and it may be a bit hard to believe that it could all be SO WONDERFUL every time, but it is a nice daydream to think that it is possible! I just generally liked this book, mostly because the main character rose above her privileged upbringing/spoiled society woman ways and created a career for hereslf and while in the process of that, fell in love for all the right reasons. Anyone who enjoys reading about the finer things in life and having a behind the scenes look at high society life in NYC would enjoy this book! I am also a "Sex and the City" fan...if that tells you anything!!

Captivating!! 11 Aug 2003
By Heather Marshall Negahdar VINE™ VOICE
Format:Hardcover
It was hard to put this book down once I got started, as the story line is excellent and filled with great entertainment.

FOR ALL THE WRONG REASONS delves into the lives of one social butterfly, Diana Foxton and her rich husband Ernie Foxton a successful head of a publishing empire.
Ernie relies heavily on Diana for lots of mortal support, for she has that personal touch filled with lots of class which is imperative for him when he entertains and wants to impress his business associates. As a "stay at home" wife who lunches daily with her aristocratic friends when she's not busily buying up the best in designers clothes, shoes, perfume and jewellery, her face is constantly splashed across the newspapers showing off her stunning good looks and her fashionable tastes.

However, all does not go well for very long, as she soon finds out her husband is having a torrid affair. She catches him right in the act so to speak, and leaves him immediately trying to keep her pride in tact.

Watch Diana move from riches to rags as she tries to recapture the life she once enjoyed, as her so called friends wait around with baited breath longing to see how this great lady will make it on her own. Does she have the brains to reestablish her place in society as well as a place in the business world, or is she just another pretty face with no change in her pocketbook? This you'll see for yourself in Ms. Bagshawe's new novel.

This could be a nice birthday gift for a sister or a best buddy.

Heather Marshall (nettle-girl)

entertaining relationship drama 12 May 2002
By Harriet Klausner - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
In London wealthy heiress Diana Verity marries publisher Ernie Foxton, though he has an underhanded reputation within the industry and amidst the ladies. To Ernie, Diana is the perfect trophy wife when he relocates to New York to take over Blakeley's Publishing House and turn it into a global giant. To Diana, Ernie is her ticket to an exciting youthful world as a major Big Apple hostess.

In Brooklyn, Michael Cicero is making a success out of Green Eggs Books by reissuing out of print classic children's stories. However, Ernie wants control of Green Eggs and ruthlessly succeeds in his endeavor. At the same time, Diana catches Ernie in their bed in an S & M relationship with his mistress. Ernie destroys Diana in the subsequent divorce leading to her friends dropping her like she is contagious. This leads to Michael and Diana forming a partnership whose prime objective is to decapitate Ernie, but grows into something much more positive between them.

FOR ALL THE WRONG REASONS is an entertaining relationship drama that focuses on the lifestyles of the rich and famous. The key to the tale that makes Louise Bagshawe's novel different is that the author leaves no doubt that the residents of the world of glitter contain character flaws, some very ugly. Though how much shopping can ornaments do will leave even shopaholics tired though the story line will prove fun for fans of Jackie Collins' HOLLYWOOD WIVES.

Sexy, 'Can't put it down for a second' Summer Read. 30 May 2002
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
This book was one of those wonderful books that upset you when it is over because you must say goodbye to the characters. At first I was sure the herione was pure fluff, but the growth and integrity she exhibits made it so enjoyable, I defy anyone not to respect her courage by the end of the book. Very empowering to women, yet Bagshawe is ruthless about her character's flaws. The hero, 'Micheal' is enough to make any woman gasp and pant a little even though at times she wants to throttle him. It is a rip roaring ride! Where can we get more of her books?

Read this book "For All the Right Reasons"!! 17 July 2002
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
I love the romance/revenge books and this is one of the best to come out since Elizabeth Gage's masterpiece The Masterstroke". Beautiful and spoiled Brit Diana Foxton is not the most likable heroine at first. In fact I didn't like her at all until she gets thrown for a loop by her conniving rat of a husband and her "best friend" and goes from Central Park high society to sharing a tiny dirty apartment and learning to live like the common folk. You'll cheer for this well thought out characterization as Diana finds love with her ex-husband's enemy but even that doesn't come easy. I could not put this book down. It's not too late to take this to the beach! This is the
ultimate summer or anytime read with plenty of hot sexual entanglements to spice things up!
