Great album, if you love Journey, AOR, Great vocalists like Rod Stewart, Michael Bolton... then you will love this album. A Great mix of ballads and rockers, Go Steve!

In or out of Journey ...Steve Perry makes music you just want to listen to and vainly convince yourself you can sing along to. This album opens with a stunning track called You Better Wait , which has become my personal favourite from Perry's solo catalogue ...crank it up and from that point on you will be a Steve Perry fan. I wouldn't mind betting Journey would love to have this track in their armoury for Arnel Pineda to belt out on tour. That said, unlike his first solo project Street Talk (which is another 5 star affair), this album sounds much less like a Journey album. This album is more about the song writing than the rock sound and as such I suspect Perry will have been far more satisfied with the final outcome but their is no disguising those trademark vocals.

I love it and I can safely say there isn't a single weak track. I now eagerly anticipate the prospect of a rejuvenated Steve Perry putting together a third album which, if you believe the music press, is very much on the cards and likely to be released in late 2011. Buy this album and his first solo album .... you wont be disappointed.

All of you with a dash of salt and pepper in your hair, or newcomers to Journey's supreme volcaliser, will appreciate this opus from Mr Perry. 4 stars as there are a couple of (predictable) fillers, but worth buying for one song 'I am'. If you appreciated the emotion that Steve put into all those classics, you will understand what I mean when I say that he pours everything into this introspective ballad. For those rock n' roll lovers, 'You better wait' is a belter, and the title track is also very impressive.
A definate addition to your CD collection that you will play many times - if you like quality music.

I've been a Journey fan for years, but loved Steve's solo work as much.
A stunning voice and brilliant song writer. A must have for Steve Perry fans.

Steve Perry has a voice which deserves to be widely recognised. His second solo album does not dissapoint. Following on from Journey and his first solo album 'Street Talk', he covers very much the same ground as before but still produces such vocal-testing songs such as 'you better wait' and 'missing you'. A great album which can be listened from beginning to end without dissapointment. A truly great and under-rated vocalist who deserves a place in history.

Listen to this cd and you'll definitely realise how much Steve Perry's voice and song writing abilities are missed in todays music. There isn't another singer who can put more emotion into their vocals than this.Truly awesome! His voice is on a lower range on these songs than on his earlier cds,but he makes up for it with added passion."You better wait" starts the cd off and its a stunner! I bought this cd for the added bonus tracks, all of which are great.A re-work of his 1977 demo track "if you need me,call me"is well worth a listen and i was surprised that recording it in 1988/89 he could still match his original vocals! If you like strong husky vocals,Steve Perry's the singer for you!

This is a brilliant album and I absolutely love it - but I didn't expect any less than that from Steve Perry. I actually prefer his solo work to that of his work with Journey - his voice is richer, more mature and soulful in my opinion - (I also love listening to the Steve Perry era of Journey but his solo stuff is my preference). If you are a fan of his, this should be in your collection if you don't have it already. I really hope he blesses us with more some day in the not-too-distant future.
