I first saw this movie a few years ago on TV, and was surprised to see it had been released on DVD, so I ordered it. Crowe plays an Australian pilot on a training programme in Manitoba, Canada, the heart of the Canadian plains. He makes friends with a local pilot who is also on the programme, and consequently comes to know his family. He falls in love with the airmans sister, but she is already married. I won't reveal the ending, but you won't be disappointed - it's an evening well spent if you're looking for a movie with a little romance!
Russell Crowe is his usual self. At times he can be an extraordinarily expressive actor, and this performance is no exception. The scenery is to die for, with excellent performances from a good supporting cast. Give it a go!

A very nice true to life movie, well told story about a ww2 australian pilot and a canadian farm girl.
she is married to a man serving his country overseas. loneliness encourages the illicit romance between the two and it doesn't reach the desired ending which makes it more realistic. The fashions and settings etc., are excellent, everyone looks and acts just right for the period. Russell Crowe gives his usual fine performance and Christianne Hirt is very believable and natural as the canadian girl. Has something for everyone.

A touch of light nostalgia - well acted and gently done. Nothing too deep and meaningful but poignantly enjoyable. RC again played his part superbly.
