4.0 out of 5 stars Iceland's answer to Mogwai? 7 Nov 2008
By K-Pax
Format:Audio CD
I saw these guys support Sigur Ros at a recent gig in Glasgow and I have to admit, they pleasantly surprised me. I never like to draw comparisons with other bands but they did remind me of one of my favourite bands, Mogwai especially as they are purely instrumental and rely heavily on guitar work. This 'album' consists of 6 tracks with an average track length of about 10 miunutes (another Mogwai-esque feature) and it also reminds me of Mogwai's more raw and early works. Being compared to the Scottish legends means they are in good company and it will be interesting to see how they progress. Often loud and in your face but with some subtle artistry, it's quite easy to lose yourself in this. A good debut album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Relaxing ambiance and epic crescendos 3 Aug 2010
By cmjersey - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Each of the songs on this album has the ability to transport you somewhere else, even if only for the 10 minutes or so that each track lasts. One can definitely hear the influence of their early Pink Floyd cover origins, but to pigeon hole the music into 'rock' alone would be ignoring the dreamy ambiance that accompanies the fast and often peaking guitar-centered crescendos. I was lucky to see them live in Brooklyn, and had goosebumps the entire time. Definitely a good buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Reistu žig viš, sólin er komin á loft 21 Feb 2010
By M. Carlson - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
For a Minor Reflection's first album, Reistu žig viš, sólin er komin á loft, is some of the most powerful, emotionally driven music you will ever hear. The chords and arrangements found within this instrumental post-rock evoke a deep sense of longing, like you're desperately trying to grasp something that is just out of your reach. You can't listen and not feel something. This makes for the perfect soundtrack for a night of passionate lovemaking.
