For the love of money 31 Dec 2008
Format:Hardcover
We went to see this exquisite Diamond Skull and were intrigued. We wanted to find out how the idea was conceived and the processes involved in getting it from conception to the final piece. "The Making of the Diamond Skull" fails to do this and frankly is full of tables and data that are irrelevant to the general viewing public - There are photos showing construction, but it is left to you to try to interpret the process. You will have to use your own artistic imagination to determine what is going on. The subject is displayed as a piece of art but the book only appears to be a vehicle to make money and holds little relevance to it's subject. Keep your money in your pocket.

This book SUCKS 23 Feb 2008
By emg55 - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
I was fascinated by photos I'd see of the skull and bought this book because it was supposed to describe the creation of the incredible work of art.

This book spends a majority of it's time on the age, shape, condition, teeth, and place of origin... OF THE REAL SKULL... not the jeweled creation. The discussion of diamonds is basically some drawn diagrams that explores the atom structure of diamonds. Who cares about atom structure?

There are a few great photos of the final creation, but nothing about the actual work that took place to create a platinum skull, setting the diamonds, etc.

Sorry to say this, but I recommend that you pass on this book.

Muy buen libro 24 July 2008
By Ricardo Fuentealba Fabio - Published on Amazon.com

Este libro, por los contenidos del proceso de creación de la obra del autor británico, se transforma en un documento imprescindible como testigo contemporáneo del quehacer investigativo plástico que se debe tener. Recomendable sin lugar a dudas. Gracias. Ricardo
