Format:Audio CD
The amazing-voiced Jenna G's album is up there as a milestone in jungle/drum n bass. It ranks alongside Goldie's Timeless, Roni Size's New Forms and High Contrast's True Colours as a legendary, groundbreaking, drum and bass album. Simply astounding. If you want a little inroad into the genre of jungle/drum n bass, Jenna offers the most scenic route. If you're a DNB head, you'll listen in the fast lane and take in loads of sights on the way from all the wonderful producers this proud Manc raver has recruited. Whatever way, it'll be a journey. God bless you Jenna, this is brilliant.

... but I was disappointed with this album, having bought it after reading all the other glowing reviews on here. I enjoy listening to all sorts of music, especially drum n bass, but I found this album lacked originality and found it pretty clichéd. You might disregard my review, as everyone else seems to think it's groundbreaking, but a mate of mine (who also appreciates the many different sides of this genre) agreed with me.
To me it sounded like Jenna, with decent and fitting d n b style vocals, was merely in need of a standard drum n bass backing track in order to showcase her abilities. Nothing in the music itself stood out. I felt I'd heard it all before and didn't get the satisfaction I was looking for ie. the odd dirty bassline or intelligent instrumentation. I dunno, I'm not trying to be one of those smart arses who writes reviews in order to make themselves feel superior, in fact this is the first review I felt obliged to write. Something in me had to put my side across. So there you have it.

what a difference it makes to have an all female dnb album. some of the tracks on here are just off the hook D&B soul goodness. theres a couple of ones that will get you reaching for the skip button, but overall this is a very important cd in my collection jenna has tapped into a dark, dusty corner of the dnb scene and its a very promising debut. must have album.
