Book Description

1 Mar 2010
This is a unique, themed collection of poems that charts a political breakdown. Each poem stands on its own, but the story they tell together is intensely moving.

Review

An excellent collection --Tribune

Honest ... reminder that poetry has an important role ... Should be read by all who share the author's fear. --Carol Rumens

If the Inquiry is no charade, it will take these words to heart... This is caring unsentimental poetry. --Gillian Allnutt

Special ring to Mellor's poetry ... unique compelling style... a collection ... among the first rank.
--7 Days

From the Publisher

The author uses the simplest of language, often with ragged rhythms and a strong sense of gesture, to great effect. The individual poems in this collection, many previously published in a range of magazines and journals, together create a gripping account. But the outlook is hopeful: in the end there will be an inquiry!

I must own up to having an interest in promoting this book. Nigel Mellor is my brother and I have no difficulty in recommending this book of fantastic poems. They are all good stories and well written and becoming more and more relevant. I am definately not a poetry buff but I enjoyed these enormously . Do yourself a favour and try some good stuff!
