Review

"Torossian's insights into the PR business were enormously helpful to me as an entrepreneur. With Ronn's help we grew a start up into the #1 spot on the Inc. 500 list of fastest growing companies in the US, and was able to take it public with greater than a billion dollar market cap. Ronn continues to help me today as a principal in the private equity business. "For Immediate Release" should be required reading for anyone in business, large or small."
--David A. Steinberg, founder and CEO, CAIVIS Acquisition Corp
"Torossian's "For Immediate Release" is a fearless, bold, clear, honest, and practical look at how PR shapes minds, ideas, and businesses. It is required reading for any business or brand interested in making an impact in today's 24/7 media world."
--The Shark Daymond John, founder, president, and CEO of FUBU
"Ronn Torossian is a master of his craft and understands the fine art of PR and marketing. He lifts the curtain on the intertwined worlds of PR and media, leaving little doubt how important communication is for brands. "For Immediate Release" is a must read for anyone who wants to clutterbust a market, rapidly build a brand, and take it to the next level."
--Ron Vigdor, Founder, BornFree(R)
"For too long, the PR game has been under the control of a handful of old-club-boys until Torossian came on the scene and was able to accomplish as much, if not more than all of them. "For Immediate Release" is an insider's guide to how New York media works, but more importantly, how to work it, from someone who has had firsthand experience in doing so. Forget theory, this book takes you behind the scenes with real concrete examples of the new rules of social media and working with the power brokers that can build or destroy a brand."
--Amir Korangy, Publisher of "The Real Deal" magazine
"My friend Ronn Torossian has written a great book. He speaks from firsthand experience as one of the most gifted PR professi

Product Description

The first book by the owner of a top 50 PR agency, Inventing the Truth reveals how companies define their brands; stay out of the press or get on page one; grow a business without alienating loyal customers; solve critical problems and resolve crisis’s quickly; improve first page results on the most powerful search engine in the world (Google); and become thought leaders in their industries.
Inventing the Truth cuts through the crap and demonstrates how strategic public relations can help you (or your company) be a change maker and a game changer, all in twelve concise, cut-to-the-chase chapters. Woven throughout the book are compelling case studies of businesses such as Louis Vuitton, Fubu, Clif Bar, Zappos, Weatherproof Garment Company, Bad Boy Worldwide Entertainment Group, and interviews with experts including Dr. Keith Ablow, political strategists Roger Stone and Hank Sheinkopf, former Page 6 editor Richard Johnson, former Fab Five basketball star and sportscaster Jalen Rose, and many others.
With these strategies you can:
• Weave compelling narratives.
• Use new and old media in tandem to find your audiences and create highly personal, relevant impressions tailored for them.
• Promote the interests of your brand or business; deter or potentially stop what is not in your interest.
• Build on great press, and avoid or minimize bad press.
• Ensure the first thing people see about your business or brand during an Internet search is exactly what you want them to see.
• Join a “conversation” when it’s beneficial and stay out of a dialogue when it’s not.
• Handle a crisis in the most effective and efficient manner.

1.0 out of 5 stars Interesting PR Firm 15 Nov 2011
By Frog Legs - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
In some ways you could say that Ronn Torossion is good at PR - the first eighteen reviews for this book certainly read like a press release straight from his desk.
Certainly I found his advice on how gay people can avoid pregnancy most interesting, if a little irrelevant.
With clients like Pastor John Hagee truly only the best PR brains could spin out a positive story.

Anyway, do some research on the author first, and make a considered decision before buying this book.

Let me finish with a quote from the author:

Run tactically but think strategically. Just running won't get you far. You'll hit the wall. Strategically you'll find a way around it. But don't over plan without doing.

1.0 out of 5 stars Blatant Self Promotion 23 May 2013
By Ben Bradley - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
If you want to pay to learn why the author feels everybody should choose his agency, then blow your money on this boring diatribe of hyperbole and self promotion. If you're really interested in PR then I recommend Masters of Disasters: The Ten Commandments of Damage Control by Christopher Lehane, et. el., and The Media Training Bible by Brad Phillips. They manage to teach relevant and real best practices without mentioning how wonderful their firms and managing partners are multiple times a page.

5.0 out of 5 stars Real success v theory 22 Oct 2012
By LABiz - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
I've read the reviews and feel the few negative ones are mis-guided. This is not another "how to" book but rather a case studies and of coarse that's going to come off as if the author is bragging (which is the definition of PR), but that's precisely the difference between theory and reality. I enjoyed it because it was not authored by another BS how to theorist selling air, but rather written by someone who's done it and made it to the top -- you can't argue with success, especially when he has repeated it time and again. Business owners should enjoy this because of the no nonsense angle from a ceo's perspective, which leaves you understanding the difficulties, strategy and commitment needed forf branding in the ever changing landscape of media.

Understanding what your brand or business is at its heart—why it exists—seems, on the surface, like a “no brainer,” but it’s amazing how many companies lack focus and understanding on what their true value is. "e;
