This is one of those books that you start reading in the afternoon, allow yourself twenty minutes for dinner, fall asleep at 1am in the morning, only to wake up early, desperately trying to finish it, trying to find out what happened to Gina French. At least that's what I did. Literally.
It's a true story and the book takes you to the Philippines, New York, Brunei and finally to the UK. You can't believe what this incredible woman had to go through, trying to help her family and to protect her child and herself. And occasionally you may find yourself thinking, hang on a second, I've got problems in my life? That's nothing compared to what she has experienced. How was she able to cope? Fascinating, moving, gripping.
Andrew Crofts is without a doubt a brilliant writer and if you're still not sure about this book, just pick up a copy and read the very first sentence.
