Although this is a compilation & being an Elvis purist , I still think it rates as one of his finest & one of the best albums ever.It boasts tracks from both the legendary Sun sessions and from his early days at R.C.A.This album spreads over a wide range of styles containing Rockabilly(Mystery Train), Rock n'Roll (Shake Rattle & Roll),Rhythm & Blues(Lawdy Miss Clawdy),Country ("I'm left, you're right, she's gone")Whether he is belting out a rocker or pouring out his heart in a ballad, Presleys voice is magnificent. As Elvis becomes more popular R.C.A feel the necessity to release as much material as possible , some of which has been released on many other albums. My philosophy is simple , stick to the original album releases as this will give you a true reflection of the how the albums sounded in there day. This album is now out of print so it might be difficult to locate it but it is well worth it.
