For those who are as captivated by Feldman's haunting, gentle (but tough as nails) Music as I am, this is self-recommending. Seventy timeless minutes in which sounds (chords, phrases, fragments of melody) beguile and fascinate.

For those who haven't caught the Feldman "bug" yet, my apologies for writing what will have come across as pretentious waffle (to put it politely): but this download is as good a way to start as any. For less than the price of a packet of biscuits we get an excellent recording (rich, clear, no extraneous noises) of a superb performance; Stephane Ginsburgh respects Feldman's generous sense of pacing and held this listener's attention without giving in to the temptation to "get a move on". It's not really suitable as "background Music", but repays close attention a thousandfold.

Thoroughly recommended.

A bargain purchase this excellent Feldman piece is a marvellous exposition of his excellent minimalist writing - a sense tingling experience. Ginsburg's realisation of the piece is perfect. A lenghty piece so you need to set aside enough time to sit through it - however it is worth the effort.
