5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Bagain Sampler 9 Sep 2009
By Emily - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Sampler CDs are usually under-rated, possibly because they end up in bargain bins. But they are often the most enjoyable albums, because they present a variety of fine recordings from older catalogs. I first heard FOR A RAINY DAY when we carried it at my store, and I played the demo several times a week. Customers who heard it always bought it.

Don't let the title fool you, these pieces aren't sad. Even when they're melancholy, they express bright emotions too. This perfomance of "The Lark Ascending" is my favorite, the absolute Must Buy if you're shopping for MP3 downloads. Otherwise, spend a little money on this CD. I promise, you'll play it often.

5.0 out of 5 stars perfect soundtrack to a rainy day 28 Jun 2009
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
This is one of my favorite classical CDs! I really love the first 3 tracks. It's quiet, mellow, soothing, and relaxing. Many of these tracks were unfamiliar to me which I see as a bonus. Nothing very bright, upbeat or happy here. The title is just perfect! I think the sound quality is good as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprising beauty, very well played 28 Feb 2010
By Rudy B. - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Listening to this CD again, for the fourth time, I liked it well enough to order three copies to give to special friends. Sentimental? Well, I am a trained musician, and have sung Hindemith and Brahms in Carnegie Hall, years ago true, and still write my own music, and I play with the Resurrection Trombone Choir. My friends think I'm a bit toffee-nosed on music. (Am not!) Simply, love this record. Said this way to be brief. Buy it: you'll not be disappointd.

4.0 out of 5 stars Soothing Music 24 Aug 2012
By srutter89 - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
I have always appreciated the calm selection of pieces chosen for this music CD. All the tracks were complete and I have no real complaint except that the packaging was terrible. The CD was dented (soft cover), the wrap was scratched, and the whole thing looks like it went through a rough time. Since I convert all my music onto my computer and into different formats, this is not a big deal. Buyers beware! Soft cover CDs do not mail well:)

Favorite music on CD: Claude DeBussey.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just beautiful 8 Oct 2010
By Wings42 - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
All the selections are very well done and worth listening to.

Perfect for when you are alone, for a romantic dinner, or to help you destress after a hectic day.

A little about my taste in music to help you evaluate this review: from belly dance to boogie to bluegrass to blues to Bach to Bartok and everything in between; there are only two kinds of music: good and bad.

This album is good.
