Product Description

In December of 1282, English soldiers ambushed and murdered Llywelyn ap Gruffydd, the Prince of Wales. His death marked the end of Wales as an independent nation and the beginning of over seven hundred years under the English boot.

Footsteps in Time is the story of what might have happened had Llywelyn lived.

And what happens to the two teenagers who save him.

Footsteps in Time is the first book in the After Cilmeri Series. Other books in the series include Daughter of Time, Winds of Time, Prince of TimeCrossroads in TimeChildren of Time, and Exiles in Time, available now.

"This enchanting novel reimagines one of history's most striking moments -- the 13th-century murder of Llywelyn ap Gruffydd, the last prince of an independent Wales -- and asks, what might have happened had he lived?"  --Bookbub

About the Author

With two historian parents, Sarah couldn’t help but develop an interest in the past. She went on to get more than enough education herself (in anthropology) and began writing fiction when the stories in her head overflowed and demanded she let them out. Her interest in Wales stems from her own ancestry and the year she lived in England when she fell in love with the country, language, and people. She even convinced her husband to give all four of their children Welsh names. She makes her home in Oregon.

4.0 out of 5 stars Footsteps in Time 20 Dec 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I bought this book primarily because I know Sarah through Historical Fiction On Line and through her excellent Blog. I research English/Welsh history for my own fledgling novel and Sarah is a wonderful source of information on that period.

I am not normally a Historical Fantasy fan including books that involve Time Travel - BUT! This is so well written and researched that I shall now proceed to purchase the whole series!

A few of the reviews I have seen on Amazon US come close to revealing all in spoilers, so I will refrain from that; restricting myself to saying (as a Welshman), I wish her version of that fateful day at Cilmeri had been the correct one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Compelling reading 10 Sep 2012

I bought this book after getting the first in the series as a free Download, I have been completely absorbed by these well written and cleverly devised books. The Time travel element is very cleverly dealt with and don't let it put you off as it does not dominate the story, Most of the story is set in 13th Centry Wales, and the characters are just wonderful, when you have read this series you can't help but wonder what if ......I have been so impressed by Sarah Woodbury's writing that I have just purchased the King Arthur series.

3.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable read. but short!! 7 Jun 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is the second book in the series and l have enjoyed it , but do have to say that I found it very short - l have read it in under a day, and although it contains quite a lot of historical facts, l felt quite let down on the story content front.
However, being a series it has again done its job and l feel l must buy the 3 rd in series just to see what happens next, though to my mind I would have preferred to pay a bit more for ONE book to cover all three novels.

3.0 out of 5 stars Needs more detail 30 April 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
A good writer that drew me in but disappointing when you get right down to it. Needed to say lots more about the time they're in and how it affects them. This is a battle here a battle there and nobody being terribly surprised that they're from another century!!
