BEWARE!! This book does NOT contain all the Football League grounds as stated. There are only 72 Premiership and Football League grounds included with many League 2 grounds omitted. On the positive side the book contains some excellent photographs, includes 13 Scottish grounds, is hardback and is cheap to buy. If all 92 League grounds were included then this would be an excellent book and would warrant 5 stars, but to exclude stadiums such as Field Mill I can only award 3 stars. If you are only interested in the major British stadiums then you will not be disappointed with this book but if like me you find the lower League Grounds more interesting then the Aerofilms book may a better buy. The photos, though, are bigger and better quality than those used in the Aerofilms books.

This is a magnificent collection of aerial photographs of British football grounds. The photography is brilliant and the photographs also include the surrounding area which makes them even more interesting. It also includes useful information about each ground, capacity, largest attendance etc. This book will appeal to football fans and also to anyone who appreciates superb aerial photography.

Ian Hay's aerial photography is absolutely brilliant. I just run out of superlatives. His particular talent is to set the ground in the foreground and frame a backdrop of the town/city and its worthy features. The resulting shots are spectacular, and it really helps that the reproduction quality is very high.

It would also help if Myriad Books made it clear that this is a revised edition and clearly stated the publication date. Amazon gives the publication date as 25/06/2006 but this revised edition includes the new homes of Doncaster (opened 2007) and Colchester (opened 2008), so I have actually bought the book again.

We're spoilt for aerial photography of football grounds in the UK with this and Aerofilms, I only wish Ian Hay could be persuaded to export his talent to the grounds of France, Spain, Italy and Germany.

Ian Hay's aerial photographs are published impressively in this useful book.
128 football grounds spanning a few divisions is ideal for a football novice
like me. From the air, there is so much to see past the focal point of every
picture. This allows the reader to immerse themselves in the finer details.
I found it easy enough to dip into the book at any reference and enjoy reading
the details and anecdotes about each respective club.

Some hallowed turf are surrounded by lavish and futuristic architecture that
must make loyal fans proud. A good example being the Emirates stadium with its
lozenge look that seats more than 60,000. Who would have thought that the Gooners
beat Loughborough Town 12-0 in 1900, after losing to them 0-8 four years earlier
in 1896? Their best and worst ever results at the ground, both against the same
opposition.

Titbits may be found like that of Luton Town's ground at Kenilworth Road is
128 years old, surrounded by endless rows of Terraced houses, actually banned
away fans for a few years at the same time as they had an artificial pitch.
This ground seats around 10,000 and still competed in the First Division in
the early 80s. This is the home of the 'Hatters' who in the 2008/09 season
were docked no less than 30 points for financial irregularities.

I must say the picture of Elland Road certainly does it justice. When I
bypassed the ground one fairly crisp and cloudy afternoon a few years ago,
it didn't appear as sprightly as it does in the picture. Since the book
was first published in 2006, this refurbished look is a conundrum.

A must for any football fan. I was delighted when I opened this book. It was way better than I expected. The photo's are excellent, with great views of the grounds and the surrounding areas. The pictures are crystal clear and of excellent size. It is also up to date with recent stadium developments and includes many of the Scottish league grounds. Great value for money.

This book has all the major clubs in supurb large colour photos that are crystal clear. The photos are right up to date with not only the stadium but in some cases much of the city - a nice balance. Ian Hay must have spent hours and hours collecting this supurb collection and for the price it's a steal. THIS HAS GOT TO BE EVERY FOOTBALL FANS DREAM COME TRUE!!!!
