I was searching the web for new music like you do and i came across this canadian punk band called gob after listening to a few of there tracks i was hooked. I really recomend this to anyone who likes american punk. they are a sort of cross between jimmy eat world (i know there not punk) and the offspring mellow but punk at the same time. The guitar and drums are spot on and the vocals you can really relate to. I really recomend the songs Bully and Oh Ellen to different styles by them but both of them very good.
I really recomend this stick out a limb and buy it you wont be dissapointed.
I wasnt.

Gob recycles well 14 April 2003
Format:Audio CD
We've finally figured out Gob's dirty little secret -- they're closet environmentalists.

Oh sure, this Vancouver foursome try to come off as just another snottier-than-thou bunch of skateboarding popcore nihilists. But look no further than their latest album Foot in Mouth Disease to witness their obvious commitment to recycling.

The title and cover art? Borrowed wholesale from Sum 41's Does This Look Infected? and rejigged slightly. Addictively hooky pop-punk songs like Oh! Ellin and Cold Feet? Made up largely of leftover Cheap Trick licks collected over the years, with bits of Green Day, Offspring, '70s new wave and '80s heavy metal sprinkled in for flavour -- and a healthy dose of F-words to show the kids that they're still, like, underground. The tune about Asian martial artist Ming Tran? Recycled from last year's F.U. EP. Most of the "bonus" disc that comes with the album? The rest of said EP -- which was already full of recycled stuff from their earlier albums -- along with a couple of soundtrack and live cuts and three videos for songs from their last album The World According to Gob. Sheesh.

Never mind the parental advisory sticker. Foot in Mouth Disease needs a different kind of cautionary label: Warning! Made from 100% Reconstituted Rock.

Hey,
After having being a great fan of Gob and listening to their other releases for a long period of time I was extremely looking forward to hearing this new album. I was curious as to how they would change and evolve their already amazing sound. I was not disappointed in the slightest!
Gob have totally exceeded my expectations with this album. It is well known that punk-rock has a reputation of being quite boring and that it all sounds the same, well, this is not!! Trust me, they are not like this!! I find them to have a 'mature' sound compared to other bands. The vocals are superb, as are the guitars and drums. Anyone who is looking for a fun, awesome, intelligent and downright fantastic album this is the one for you! Also check out "The World According To Gob" if you haven't already had the opportunity to hear it. I hope I have helped those of you swithering about whether of not to get this album to go for it! :)
