I really like this book. It takes a couple of dozen classic french dishes and gives you step by step instructions on how to make them. I've used it for family evening meals and dinner parties. If you are an experienced cook you may find it a little patronising (the instructions detail every step!) But a less experienced cook (who can follow instructions) will get great results. It is classic cookery - not throw something together in 30 mins a la Ready Steady Cook, so a little planning and longer preparation is needed for some dishes. He has put togther a few menu suggestions at the end of the book - useful if you can't be bothered or don't want to do it yourself.
