I am a fan of Patrick Holford and how he is trying to make people healthier by explaining to them in plain english how they can make themselves heathier by making the right food choices. The details explaining the GL diet are clear and easy to understand. The problem I have with this particular book is the recipes. They are delicious and tasty, and the ingredients can easily be found. However, after telling us we should eat 10GL for a meal and 5GL for a snack, the recipes don't state how many GL's they contain. How do you know if you are eating too many or not enough GLs? So the theory is excellent but this missing details lets the book down. I would still recommend Patrick's other GL books which do include recipes with their GL score so you can plan properly. But if you only want to buy one GL book to get the knowhow and recipes, this is not the best buy.
