Product Description

About the Author

Ben Ebbrell and Barry Taylor head up The Sorted Crew, a group of childhood friends who got together during their university holidays to share anecdotes, assumptions and problems that they were each facing during their first year away from home. After mocking each other's laughable set of domestic skills in the kitchen, Ben decided to help them out with recipe ideas and 'Sorted' was the result. With Ben cooking and Barry taking photographs and using his design skills, the crew set themselves up on YouTube to upload filmed recipes, and these SortedFood video recipes now get millions of views every month. They have self-published two recipe books, A Recipe for Student Survival and A Rookie's Guide to Crackin' Cooking, and Beginners... Get Sorted was their first book with Penguin.

Great recipes, glad to have the boys ideas on hand. My daughter is a huge fan. This saves me.having to watch the videos. although, they are funny.

This book is great. I subscribe to the youtube channel and have used many of their recipes to great success. Everything they is do easy and accessible and all explained very well. The book is the same, the format of each recipe is similar to their 5 minute(ish) youtube flicks in that their is an intro then the ingredients and method followed by what it should probably look like (very good photography) all sadly without the banter of the lads. So it is 5 stars for content and appearance.

Why not 5 stars then overal then? Well this is probably the publishers fault, but I only have a PC and an Android phone. This ebook is not available for desktops or laptops so I can only view it on my phone. You can zoom the writing a little but its not great especially if your hands are caked in some kind of marinade. The format of the book is portrait so one page would equal two if it were printed, each page would spread across two 'real' pages with the hinge in the middle(and look amazing). There are no settings available to change the size of the fonts, as with a standard text only book, or page orientation. It would be great if there were a text only option for when you are actually doing the business in the kitchen.

Maybe its better on different ebook apps? I dont know.

If you stumbled on this page looking for recipe book ideas that are quick, accessible, will teach you something about how flavours and all that work together then this is brilliant! Also check out sorted dot com and meet the fellas that do this. They are on the cutting edge of how home entertainment is evolving and probably dont even know it. Even Jamie Oliver has jumped on their bandwagon ;)

I'm off for some quesadillas

Awesome content but... 16 Sept. 2013

The recipes in this book are amazing! I love them and can't wait to keep making more things from it! I'm taking 2 stars away from the item because of its format though.... I can't zoom in to see the recipe better, I can't bookmark my favourites. Because it's restricted to Kindle Cloud Reader I have to use my iPad or computer browser and for some crazy reason they didn't implement the other features normally available to kindle downloads. I wish I didn't have to take 2 stars away from this great book but it's so hard to use right now that it's almost not worth using. I'd rather not have to have my gadgets open and running in the kitchen while cooking various things.

Kindle version is crazy making to read!!! 4 May 2014

Kindle version is the Crazy Monkey way to read a book!! I love the Sorted Videos & was hoping for a robust collection of their recipes. I'm a fast reader & having to tap to open & tap to close each paragraph left me frustrated. For a recipe that was a full page, the last section disapeared below the visible part of the screen. The Kindle version's print is tiny - about 4 to 5 points. The is no linking to the chapters, actually no linking at all, no index, & zero conversion tables if you're a reader from outside the UK & not hip to metric. I think I might like the book, but I gave up when I realized I felt like I was in an sociology experiment to see how many times a person would tap on a screen to get to the meaningful content!

For the longest time, I have watched this group cook and laugh through many YouTube videos. I love Ben's recipes, Barry's curiosity, Jamie's jokes and Mike's music and desire to learn. When this cookbook came out, this was the only book I absolutely HAD to own. Thanks to Amazon and Sorted, it is now a prized addition to my collection!

Easy, simple, delicious recipes written by the most talented young chef on the internet. And everything just gets that much better with his "friends" - Jamie, Mike, and Barry!! :D
