About the Author

Derval O'Rourke believes that in life, like sport, preparation counts for a lot. As both a foodie and fitness fanatic she is passionate about experimenting with healthy, nutritious recipes, which she shares with her many fans through her blog (dervalorourke.blogspot.com), on Twitter (@DervalORourke) and now in this book. Derval has held the title of World Champion in sprint hurdles and competed for Ireland in three Olympic Games. She also picked up four European Championship medals and holds the Irish record for sprint hurdles. Derval recently announced she was hanging up her spikes for good after 12 amazing years competing at the highest level in world athletics. She lives in Cork with her husband, Olympic sailor Peter O'Leary, and her much-loved dogs, Berlino and Chaz.

One of the first cookery books I’ve read where I can take more than just one or two recipes from. Nearly all of these recipes I would cook regularly. The simplicity of the recipes, combined with the health benefits, and the fact they all taste great, makes this a must have for anyone who wants to eat healthier and feel better about themselves. Whether you’re a novice or an accomplished cook, if you want to eat better you should have this in your kitchen. p.s. the Oaty Chicken Strips – DEVINE!

This is great!! I heard her on a local radio talk show & the presenter who is also into running was saying how easy the recipes are, as was she. She has easy healthy yummy recipes that even my fussy kids like! I'm baking bread too, great food for someone who's not into the Jamie "blitz it in this, whak it in that other kitchen thingymebob", 15 mins prep my ar*e!!! But Derval has good home cooked meals and great filling food for people who train hard or even if you don't, the dinners and lunches are fab!

Just bought this book a couple of weeks ago and it was so easy to get stuck in straight away. A no nonsense approach to clean eating, with easy to follow and accessible recipes. The "Dark Chocolate and Orange Zest Brownies" are a delicious treat and the Shepherd's Pie is a tasty and healthy comfort food. I highly recommend this book!

Love it. A book for everyone especially the culinary(ly) challenged. The recipes are user friendly, healthy, tasty and made with ingredients I can actually pronounce and have in my cupboard. The Food Shop guide at the beginning is such a big help to those of us only at the start of our conquest to eat healthier. This book makes me feel like I can actually make the switch to eating better and stick with it. The quotes and the personal stories Derval shares throughout the book are both motivation and inspirational. I will including this book in many Christmas stockings this year and people will thank me for it. LOVED!
