...most notably, because `in the Hay Kitchen, vegetables are cooked as little as possible to preserve the essential vitamins and flavour`,... and all diets could possibly benefit from this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Eat loads of delicious food and lose weight!, 29 April 2006

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Food Combining for Health Cookbook: Better health and weight loss with the Hay Diet (Paperback)
Food combining changed my life! After years of IBS and fluctuating weight it's all now under control - and I'm eating more than ever!
I admit I don't follow it to the letter but this book helps make it really easy, particularly with sceptical family members who don't like making an effort with the cooking.
It doesn't go into detail about the diet but gives you enough to start. Other books will give you the lowdown on why it works but this book helps you put it into practice.

I'll say three things about the recipes in this book:
1. They're straightforward and easy to follow - they don't use weird or hard to find ingredients or take hours of preparation.
2. The portions are huge - great when you're a busy, active and greedy person like me!
3.They're delicious - I've tried about 15 so far and every one has been a winner.

If you want to lose weight or just to feel healthier without too much fuss, you can't go far wrong with this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars brilliant way of eating, 19 Jun 2003
This review is from: Food Combining for Health Cookbook: Better health and weight loss with the Hay Diet (Paperback)
Food combining is a brilliant and very very healthy way of eating and losing weight. The book is fantastic, recipies are simple and don't require too much time and almost all of them have been to even my husband's and by baby boy's satisfaction. The diet is based on as much fresh food as possible, and you can feel the benefits even after a few days. The book now comes on holiday with us (if self-catering). After a few months of using the recipies junk food tastes just awful and you wonder why you didn't start this earlier in your life. Even if you don't want to stick to the rules of the diet (which are quite strict e.g. no processed foods at all, no white flour or sugar etc.) the recipies are delicious. Great for entertainment and vegetarian food too.
