I have an Xperia Neo and it is a bit heavy for this car dash mount. Phone has fallen off a few times now and once I do get it secure I cannot touch the phone again otherwise it will come loose and fall off. Difficult trying to fit back on while driving, in fact not advised trying to fit back on since you really need both hands to push the phonce and mount together.

As I say ok for smaller mobs but avoid if you have a smart phone.

It's cheap; it works (with a little common sense). I've got a Sony Xperia Z1 which is one of the larger smartphones at the moment and due to the position of the power/usb port (on the top left side), not all phone holders are suitable for it.

This mount is great in that there's very little to get in the way of anything on probably any phone - just those two little prongs. If they're in the way of some port, just reattach your phone a few millimetres left/right. It also leaves the rear facing camera wide open, so if you're into using your phone as a dashcam, you should be good to go. Same with the headphone socket - nothing in the way at all

The holder itself is built well - no droop or wobble at all. The suctions cup suckers onto the windscreen so well, it's actually quite hard to get off even once you've lifted the suction cup lever (I have to force a fingernail under and peel it off slowly with some effort).

The red squidgy dot that the phone sticks to DOES need to be run under a cold tap every now and again, but I've only had to do this twice in about 2 months, but I haven't had to wash the suction cup yet and it's still super sticky. Due to the sticky nature of the red dot gel, it'll depend where you store it and what you store it with, eg there's little in my glovebox that leaves lint or dust around to gather on the red dot... Touching it also seems to affect it's stickiness, so don't keep poking it :)

I think others have said there's a tendency for phones to come off the holder - this has only happened once to me and I decided it was clearly time to give it a wash. You DO have to let it dry out by itself (overnight), but then the stickiness returns and all's good again.

Bought this as I was sick of having to fork out for a new custom windscreen mount whenever I get a new phone. I quite liked the idea of this but wasn't convinced it would work. Decided to risk it in the end and have to say I am pretty happy with it. Despite some other reviewer comments this works perfectly for my HTC Sensation (a relatively heavy handset compared to some) even in its silicone case (note that I use a silicone gel type case, not the thin skin-like type).
The only time I have had a problem is when I used it with a car charger which has a fairly short coiled lead and after a while I would find that the tension from the charger would pull the handset off the holder. I now use a longer lead with plenty of slack and have not had a problem since.

I have a Sony Xperia SP. Not a small handset, about the same size as an iPhone (ish).
After reading the reviews and product description I didn't really understand how this product could be "re-usable" and not leave any residue. Now I've had the product for a few days I want to explain to people how good this is.

The red spot on the front of the holder and the base are both sticky. However the "stickiness" is re-usable. The base has a suction clamp thing (oo-err) which means it is solid (in my case, on my dashboard). The red dot leaves absolutely no mark on the case of my phone whatsoever. It must be magic!

There are two main bonuses with this holder compared to others. Firstly, you can take it off the dashboard and tuck it away in the glovebox whenever you like and it leaves no sign to thieves that there was ever a satnav (or phone) in the car. Secondly, it would work with any model phone leaving the headphones and charging points accessible. As other reviewers have said, it also leaves the camera available if for some reason you want to film your journey.

A fantastic holder, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Fits all our different phones with charger attached, Brilliant for the money if it the stickiness that holds the phone lasts a year or more!
Attaches to the dash no problem, solid.

I have had one of these devices for about 3 years and it has performed well. The circular sticky disc has recently 'lost it's stickyness' so I have just ordered a new one. The reduced price is also a bonus.

I've been able to secure it to my dashboard and so far it's stayed there, which is less obtrusive than the windscreen and hopefully less likely to catch the attention of car thieves on the look out for gadgets. My sat nav holder uses a suction cup and i take that down each time but this seems designed to remain on place once it's positioned.

The sticky pad that secures the phone is so sticky it can be hard to get it off so I usually just move the plastic peel a little to one side which holds the phone in place but means I can take it off more easily. Afterwards I replace the peel which I'm hoping will help preserve its sticky qualities. I will wait to see how long the stickability lasts as this is the only way of securing the phone in place.
