So much talent, so little time, 11 Nov 2008

Thanks to the road directions of another very gifted poet, Jessica A. C. Snyder, I was able to find my way to [...], and there to read three of Mike's poems: "Two boys," "An e-mail" and "Everything in its place." These pieces alone would justify the purchase of "Folly."
Mike Stocks is an INCREDIBLY gifted poet. Is he also just another "flower...born to blush unseen" and unread? I'm certain that if Thomas Gray were alive and well, Mike wouldn't. He'd already have a following. And Thomas Gray would be at the head of that following.
Poets have a hard time making ends meet. Mike is a poet. Although there is happily nothing in his bio (which you can find at the same site) to suggest "entitlements" or that he might somehow be deserving of patronage, he is -- at least in my opinion -- deserving of that and much, much more.
