Review

'Art, antiques and romance are the ingredients: Titchmarsh boils the pot to a fine froth.’ (SAGA Magazine )

Product Description

Jamie Ballantyne and Artemis King were never meant to fall in love. The feud between their families has run for three generations.

But whatever Jamie’s head might tell him, his heart will always belong to Artemis. After fifty years, perhaps it’s time for the Kings and the Ballantynes to bury the hatchet.

Then Jamie and Artemis start to uncover their shared past. What they find will rock the foundations of both their families, as a web of deceit and intrigue is ruinously exposed …

This is the richest and most captivating novel yet from a natural-born storyteller.

5.0 out of 5 stars Alan's Back on Form, 7 Nov 2008
By Alan's Greatest Fan (Dorset, England) - See all my reviews
Alan is back on form with this wonderful novel. I found his last one (Love and Dr Devon) a bit naff (sorry Alan), but "Folly" was really lovely. Found it very hard to put down and I love happy endings. Can't wait for the next one!

4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderfully exciting love story!, 31 Oct 2008
By Tracy Stillman "Space Cadet" (California) - See all my reviews

MR. Titchmarsh has written another wonderful story. He is such a natural story teller, there is nary a phony note in his writing. This is the story of two lovers who were never supposed to be due together due inter-generational feud between their families. The lovers start learn of the long buried reasons behind the decades long feud, and what they find will rock the worl of both families. This is an easy to read story that will keep you turning the pages!

4.0 out of 5 stars Full of twists and turns, 2 Mar 2009
By Martin A. Chambers (U.K.) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is probably Titchmarsh's most complex novel to date. It concerns three generations of two families and their interaction one with another. It operates in two time periods. The main ingredients are fine art and families. I found aspects confusing, a bit like a Rubik cube; you think you've got some relationship sported out when something happens to baffle you again. It is, like all his novels engaging and absorbing. This is a well written book with all the usual twists and turns. There is however an unfortunate flaw. The basic premise of the novel which I won't reveal here - does not legally hold water. That aside, you will be hugely entertained by this book.
