4.0 out of 5 stars Handy! 24 Nov. 2014
By Karen J. Tobo - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
The guide was invaluable on our recent trip. Having it right on the phone as we walked, as well as available on the big screen back in the room, was a great help. We followed the Garden District walking tour. A couple of the house numbers and intersections were off on that tour - perhaps a bit more proofreading next time? - but we were able to follow along and had an enjoyable day out.

We disregarded the warnings about Rampart Street and enjoyed breakfast at Mister Gregory's and coffee at the very eclectic Arrow Cafe within a couple of blocks of our room at the Best Western Plus French Quarter. It worked well for our bus trips to Marigny, but your mileage may vary. There are certainly more charming places in the midst of the Quarter, but we had no trouble on the outskirts.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Mixed Bag 8 Jan. 2015

We found more useful information online. The maps are so minuscule, they're unreadable. The book was good for historical or background information. It was easier to carry than pages of printouts.

This book will accompany me the next time I head to the French Quarter. It's current with things to do and see, and makes me wish I could go there right this moment.

Great guide book. Very helpful if you don't know the City! Foder is always a reliably good choice.
