select: eScan Anti-Virus is a comprehensive Anti-Virus suite based on unique MWL Technology with Anti-Virus scanning, Content Security and a NetBIOS Firewall featuring within the software. The MWL Technology checks for all Internet content at the winsock layer, much before the data reaches the application or the hard disk. Easy to use for home and business customers alike with flexible and scalable features, taking care of all kinds of Internet threats such as Viruses, Trojan Horses, Worms and Spam. This product has received the Virus Bulletin 100% award and the CheckMark certificate for clearing Anti-Virus level 1 test.

eScan is a powerful Anti-Virus suite with more than 72,000 virus signatures. It has an automatic incremental update without user intervention. The 'Urgent virus update' pushes new updates to automatically defend against new virus attacks. It has'ON Demand' and 'ON Access' scanning. Anti-Spam can be activated taking care of all unnecessary emails. Additional email content can be defined and customised. The user can control, block and restrict email attachments. HTML tags within the email can be restricted and outgoing attachments can automatically be compressed.

select: eScan Anti-Virus controls and blocks restricted Web sites from children by checking the Web site rating with two well-known organisations, the ICRA (Internet Content Rating Association) and SafeSurf (SS~~ Rating Standard). Both organisations rate millions of Web sites depending on the content. So, categories such as pornography are taken care of not just because of the 'blocked' word but also because of the Web site ratings as well. You may also define 'blocked' and 'allowed' categories of your own. Pornography and gambling are already defined using keywords. Parents can also Block Audio and Video files as well as block images, so that a child does not download any obscene material. The firewall protects your PC from hackers or remote users. Stop them from gaining access to your computer and trying to modify or create exe/com files or attach a virus/worm in your system like Nimda, a virus used to create multiple files.

select: eScan Anti-Virus can be password protected, preventing others users and children from changing the security policy or accidentally or intentionally uninstalling the software. The eScan icon in the taskbar can be made invisible to other users.

This product is amazing! For £6.99 you can't go wrong. It's really easy to install and offers everything that's included in other highly priced antivirus software packages such as Norton etc...

I searched for ages over the Internet looking at various Antivirus software and they were all retailing at £40+! Don't get me wrong I don't mind paying this much especially for protection and security whilst on the Internet, but why pay over the odds when you can pay £6.99 for a CD that does exactly the same as others!!!

I used to use Trend's anti virus software, but it stopped working after I got windows xp, so I've been on the look out for an alternative. More by luck than judgement I came accross escan anti-virus and thought for the price, even if it didn't work I didnt stand to lose out by much. But work it did, finding and dealing with a few viuses on my system the first time I ran it. It also automatically updates itself every time you connect to the internet, so you'll always be protected against the latest viruses.

Take it from me, this anti-vius software works and for the price, how can you go wrong?!

Impressed! Having got rid of Norton Antivirus and Panda Titanium in quick succession I had quite a surprise that eScan picked up a Trojan that the other two antivirus programmes had not spotted. In addition, eScan does not have a habit of trying to connect to commercial sites when updating, which was a problem with both Norton and Panda. It is based on Kaspersky software which is a recommendation in itself.
Downside: it is rather slow scanning (about 80 minutes on my computer), but as it is very thorough I do not mind. Plus, it only gives you a 6 months' licence which is rather short - but considering the very low price compared to other antivirus programmes, this should not be a reason for moaning too much about...
Highly recommended!
