Amazon.co.uk Review
Here's a CD-ROM that's harder than most to categorise.
Mind-Gym won a BAFTA Interactive Entertainment Award in the Comedy Category in 1998, and while it is certainly funny (comedian Tim Wright is lead writer), it offers more than plain comedy. The creators call it a personality test--but there aren't the straightforward questions you expect from a personality test, of the is-the-glass-half-full-or-empty type. Instead, you are taken through a series of fast-paced, graphically rich games in animated environments, at the end of which your mental fitness is assessed in five categories
- open to new ideas
- challenger to received information
- experimental
- proactive
- empowered
Once you've been assessed, you can visit the Games Room, the Pool and Ideas, and the Think Tank, where games and activities are designed to develop your weaker points. The games--and the voices and graphics that accompany them--are witty, challenging, fun, campy and unpredictable. Take the challenge. --
