I have a book on the same subject, with an audio cd for listening to bird songs. I can bring it with me when I go for a walk. or in the garden or on the sofa, etc. listen to songs on a walkman if I want. what I expected from a cd-rom is: more birds and bird songs, being able to find a bird according to criteria I would select, cross-reference, good soundtrack. what did I get from this one? nothing of all that. you can't search a bird (it's just a plain list - just like an index on paper - hey! do these guys know what IT was invented for?), the bird songs are so short (a few seconds each) that it's hardly worth listening... the images are less than adequate in some cases, there's nothing to give you clue at all to recognise birds (sight or song), no cross-reference, descriptions are minimalist. and of course my sofa in more confortable than the keybord of my PC...

A true bargain,it has it all! much better than any book or video,i have learnt alot from listening to the bird song and looking at key idenfication points,extremly helpful in the field!
