This lawn mower is good at what it does. Cutting grass, particularly long grass, even wet grass, or if your really keen long wet grass. For these conditions it is ideal. For those of us who are lazy, or just do not want to be constantly emptying a grass box it is also ideal. Also for those who have no means of recycling the mowings from the lawn it is a big plus, particularly with town councils clamping down on what they will and will not collect.
It has a powerful motor which is ideal for tackling grass that has been allowed to grow longer than normal and another big plus is that it folds together nicely and can be hung on a wall somewhere without taking up too much valuable room. The one down side with mowers of this type is that the lawn eventually has a 'thatch'. This is caused by the lawn clippings being left on top of the grass. A good scouring with a lawn rake can be beneficial in these circumstances. If you want a lawn that looks like a bowling green with nice stripes on it, then this is not the mower for you. However if your 'grass' is not pretending to be a lawn and most of the time is used by half the kids in the neighbourhood as a football pitch, this mower will help to keep it manageable. All in all a good all purpose mower that takes a lot of the hard work out of keeping the grass short.

I had the Turbo compact 330 [collected grass] before buying the Turbo 400. The main reasons I went for this one were that it resembled the very first Flymo I ever bought [in blue] and that was exceptionally powerful.
I did have reservations about turning lawn cutting into two jobs - cutting and sweeping. But this proved undounded, it is possible to keep the cuttings to the right hand side of the mower as you go and blow them onto the border. However, if you cut the grass once a week the problem doesn't arise. I do not have a large lawn, but using the 330 it took around 30 minutes to cut. The Turbo 400 does the job in 20 minutes with less hassle. The first thing I noticed when I switched the 400 on was the powerful kick from the motor and the ease with which it glides over the grass. The 400 seems to hover slightly higher and has no problems with the parts of the lawn that are not level. I wished I'd bought one of these years ago, no more sweating or emptying of grass boxes.

FLYMO TURBO 400 X 1500W ELECTRIC HOVER MOWER
If your need is to cut an area of low quality, uneven grass - as opposed to a high quality lawn - then the Turbo 400 will deliver a well finished product, in all weathers. Admittedly it will not collect the cut grass in a box but as a mulch on the underside. Cleaning is a chore but the mulch will compost very easily.
