These are light and easy to handle, but as the blades and cutting disc are made from plastic, don't expect it to last for long.

Mine lasted 5 minutes before it hit a stone hiding in the grass, which completely knackered the cutting disc.

You can buy replacement parts, but a cutting disc will set you back £7.

If, like me you don't have a lawn that looks like a shagpile carpet, I'd fork out the extra £20 quid and get one of the metal bladed ones.

Save your money, buy a pair of nail scissors and cut the grass with them - trust me it will be quicker.

I am hugely disappointed with the Flymo Microlite. I decided to update my old Flymo with this model - sadly I took the old one to the dump before trying the new one. It is truly useless. I have only a small garden and a grass cut would normally take 10 minutes, with this model I am looking at 30 minutes+ as I have to stand and 'iron' the grass, ie go over and over the same area about 5 times before the grass is cut. It is SO bad I have taken time out in the middle of exhausting myself 'ironing' the grass to come indoors and write this review. Do NOT buy this model.

Very light and easy to carry. Dont expect a precision cut as the mower is a bit hit and miss in places. OK if you have a small garden.
The top cover is rather thin and it would not take much to crack it.
My main concern is the removal of grass cuttings from the top foam filter, you need to dismantle the mower to get at the filter, the instruction state you should return the mower to a dealer to have this done.
Folds away easily and takes up minimal space when hung on a garage or shed wall.

I bought this mower over a year ago, just as a second mower to cut my small front lawn. I just wanted something lightweight and easy to carry and this mower ticks all the boxes. However after my almost new main mower stopped working I now use the Flymo for my back lawn too. It does the job, but doesn't cut particularly short, and a bit uneven, but cuts fine. I went over a stone or something and it actually cracked and made a hole in the casing of the mower; showing that the plastic is light but NOT strong. But it is fine if you just want a basic lightweight mower and not too bothered about having a perfect lawn.

i bought this lawnmower yesterday and although it did take me a bit of time putting it together and the instructions are not particularly clear, the lawnmower is brilliant. It cut my medium sized lawn in no time and it was really effortless as its so light and easy to use. I would certainly reccomend it!

First. . .anyone who says it takes more than ten minutes to assemble is a plonker. No tools required and it is pretty obvious what goes where........there are only four fixing points to do!
Easy and light to use, producing brilliant cut. Remember this is a "micro lite" so don't expect it to do heavy jobs like grass more than say three inches and do expect the plastic blades to get damaged by stones....but who keeps stones on their lawn may I ask?
This product does exactly what it should and is great value..

I was bought one of these for my medium sized garden. Putting it together didn't take too long, but the instructions weren't overly clear.

Its cuts the grass ok - you're not going to get a garden that looks like a bowling green or centre court at Wimbledon, but it will cut the grass - my grass was very long, and although it took a bit of effort, it got through it. It does miss bits though, and you might find yourself going over the same patch of grass several times.

My biggest gripe with it is that it's flimsy. The pins that hold the handle to the mower don't have a nut on them, and so fall out regularly. I've found myself kicking them back in, or searching through the grass for them more times than I care to remember. They aren't the easiest things to put back in either...the handles and the plastic bits to attach it all together don't match up well. It also has a habit of tripping my circuit breaker.

You get what you pay for...and unfortunately that's not a lot with this mower.

Well, I've had it for nearly half an hour. All ten of the "spare" blades are used up and the lawn is only half cut. The plastic housing for the blades is also cracked in two places. If you have a small, perfect lawn to trim this may do the trick, but if there's a twig or perhaps a thick weed then beware.
