As I have said in other reviews, I won't bother describing their sound, listen to the samples and you'll get the idea. There is a clear Iron Maiden influence, including the Eddie-esque character that has appeared on a couple of the bands releases,
Some of the lyrics are a bit cheesy, and I have seen reviews elsewhere which suggested they were something of a novelty band, possibly based on the video for the tiltle track of their last album Over the Top, (which I thought was funny), but the music is solid and heavy, with some quality playing.
According to Wikipedia, so it must be true, bassist Jon Leon formed the band in response to the "angsty" and "screamo" metal that dominated the heavy metal scene at the time. True or not, this is heavy, riff-y, NWOBHM style rock, without "honey monster" style vocals (look it up on YouTube if you haven't a clue what I'm going on about).

White Wizzard are part of the new wave of traditional heavy metal, thank God because i am really sick and tired of the NU METAL rubbish and the Grunge based stuff that has come out since the early nineties
The Wizzard play traditional stuff, influenced by the likes of greats like DIO, JUDAS PRIEST AND IRON MAIDEN, Form the excellent ballad "Starchild" to "western La nights" to the epic nine minute songs fans of traditional metal will love this however i see a couple of minor faults, first of all there are a couple of songs about nine minutes long, the problem with nine minute songs is that they are either really good (such as for example Maiden's rhynme of the ancient mariner) or extremelly boring...i didnt really enjoy them and i think this cd is worse than the first one which was miles better. Another problem with this band is that the bass guitarrist is constantly kicking people out of the band, their first ep everyone was kicked out and they went to form Holly Grail which is a little heavier. Then the singer (one of the most convincing singers nowadays) was forced out and then came back (please don't let him leave again!!!)
Hopefully they come out with something new soon, this CD is good
For those who like Priest, Queensryche, Maiden or Dio its a must buy and maybe one of the most convincing traditional metal bands along with the Brillian Knights Fury

Do you like Flying?
Do you like Tigers?
Did you like NWOBHM?
DO you wear Denim?
Are you well METAL?
Is your name Rincewind?

Answer yes to any of these and this is for you. It was for me.
Hard to believe this was made by Seppoes, it just channels NWOBHMness. Playing this neutralises Head and Shoulders. When you bang you head to this it's like an explosion in a Talc factory such is the flow of dandruff from your bonce. That's a good thing.

Buy or like Die.
