5.0 out of 5 stars Glorious! 3 Jan 1999
By A Customer
This book is excellent. Its a big, meaty coffee-table book, (you just need to add four legs and you've got a coffee table!). John's photo's are, as ever, fantastic, showing a variety of aircraft in all their glory, from P51's to the more obscure Lysander's and rare Mosquito's. The text is more anecdotal, rather than reflecting extensive detail on each plane, so if you're looking for lengthy histories you need to look elsewhere. Otherwise, this is John Dibbs at his best - Wonderful stuff!

5.0 out of 5 stars WWII Aircraft in Full Rich Color 21 Jan 2002
John Dibbs has done an outstanding job in putting together his best photo's in Flying Legends! As head of the 8th Air Force Historical Society in Washington State I was thrilled and impressed by the quality of the photos that fill this book. I have spent many hours
in and around WWII aircraft and this book captures them where they should be... IN the AIR!
You have a range of WWII aircraft that will please the Spitfire enthusiast, B-17 coinsurer and the F4F diehards. Crisp and cleans with great angles I go back over and over these photo's. Don't pass this book up if you like vintage prop driven aircraft! A must for the coffee table or library.
