5.0 out of 5 stars Sticky discs 2 Jun 2011
By Regina
I bought all the discs and watched them and enjoyed reliving my fond flying doctor memories. I have recently started to watch them again but in each box set , the first and last disc are covered in a sticky substance. I used disc cleaner but these discs won't play. I'm quite careful with discs , so if anyone is having these problems, maybe there is an issue with the box they are stored in.

5.0 out of 5 stars Season 3 2 Sep 2009

26 more great stories spread over 5 discs ( One disc has six episodes on it!!)

This season we are introduced to several new characters, Marty the mechanic, Paula Patterson (Sam's very annoying sister), Maggie Hutton ( a Violet clone) and a new wet behind the ears copper. This means that we have to lose more of teh original characters to make way which loses some of the 'community' feel of the first two seasons. Hurtle turns up in a handful of episodes, Violet goes off abroad, Jack is shot and Nancy leaves before the end of the series (although she returns later).

This series sees the continuation of the Sam/Emma relationship. Emma gets pregnant and doesn't want to be. More of the 'will they/won't they' stuff with Geoff and Kate and Chris gets with a new man called Mike Lancaster.

There are no extras this time which is a shame (maybe there was no room on the discs!) I'm sure they can hunt down some of the actors for some interviews!

Roll on Season 4.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best ever! 6 July 2010
I am getting so much pleasure from these discs - have just ordered series 4. It's like rediscovering an old friend. Cooper's Crossing is as fresh as a daisy and I'm just as excited about the Geoff and Kate on-off romance as I was back in the day. Thank goodness someone had the sense to re-issue these programmes. They are the best ever.

This is just great viewing - even all these years later with advancements in medicine, the episodes still have me hooked.

5.0 out of 5 stars No drongos here 18 Aug 2009
I used to watch these in the afternoons. Consider that the quality of acting in Neighbours originally was as cardboard as the sets, this was probably even worse, and yet, strangely, a vast improvement. The stories were somewhat stretched and characters hammy, but it was jsut must see TV in its day. Is superb so get the DVDs - all you can get your hands on and you won't regret it.

Some of the characters are brilliant, yet poor - it's an oxymoronic show that captures all that is good and bad in TV - great locations, funny stories yet acted with real feeling and emotion. If ever I happen to be stranded in the bush, I'd let the diminutive Dr Chris Randall give me a hand any time.
