Fly Yellow Moon is the debut album from Guillemots singer-songwriter Fyfe Dangerfield. Written over twelve months and recorded in just five days in the aftermath of his band's 2008 Red album, Fly Yellow Moon features ten tracks penned by Dangerfield, including "When You Walk in the Room" and the single "She Needs Me".
This new version of the album also includes the hugely popular cover of Billy Joel's "She's Always a Woman", along with three more bonus tracks.

I brought this CD after hearing Fyfe's cover of Billy Joel's "She's Always A Woman" on the John Lewis TV advert.
Glad I brought it, especially at this very low price for a new chart album!! Each song is good, more acoustic numbers, but also a few more rockier numbers as well. The original album only had 10 tracks, this has 4 new bonus tracks (including "She's Always A Woman"). While this is the same price as the original 10 track album it'd be daft not to get this version!!
Highly recommended, an uplifting and enjoyable listen.

A friend of mine had me listen to a few extracts on his iPod, and I instantly fell in love with Fyfe's voice, as well as his music. The whole album is varied in style and rich in composition. Yet, Fyfe has managed not to overdo it. There's some irresistible simplicity and power in these songs, which take you from mellow atmospheres (e.g. in "Livewire") to powerful ballads (e.g. in "Faster Than The Setting Sun") where you can't help singing along.
My favourites are: "High On the Tide" (a gem!!) and "So Brand New". The most emotional track has to be: "Awake, Asleep".
I've been listening to the whole album in a loop for days and days. Just can't get tired of it. This is a safe buy, I highly recommend it!

Like most people I guess, I first heard about Fyfe Dangerfield from the cover version of Billy Joel's "She's Always a Woman" - I actually thought that it had been re-released, because it was getting so much airplay and he sounds very like Billy Joel!
Listening to the album, Fyfe stands out as a great artist in his own right. My favourites are definitely "She's Always a Woman", and his earlier one "She Needs Me" - this one because of the bass-line and changes in tone, etc, something I really like in music and which sets many artists apart from the so-so flock....
The album has a feelgood factor, and is certainly a recommended listen.
