Ok, so I have been looking for the perfect pair of fly boots for a while, and it has been very difficult to find one which fit me. I thought I would share what I have learned so you don't have to go through quite as many returns as I did!

I am a size 6.5 with wideish feet, so I went for a size 7, they are roomy, but with a pair of thick socks for the winter are fine. The sole on this boot is fabulous for all day comfort walking and gives you a bit of lift. The leather is lovely and thick and soft, and the lining is smooth and nice against your skin.

I have a 40 cm calf, and these in a size 7 fit well, not too tight, enough room for leggings, and after wearing in will probably take skinny jeans without being too snug. There is a little leeway for adjustment with the Velcro straps, but if your legs are very slim, the straps are likely to flap around. Having done a bit of research, it seems as though the calf circumference goes down about 1cm per boot size, so if you are a size 5, you want to have 38cm calves or slightly less for these to be a good fit. I think if I had gone for a size 6, the foot length would have been better, but the calf would be too tight and my wider feet would have been a bit restricted (I like my toes to have lots of room).

Have been looking for a nice pair of comfortable and stylish boots for the winter and after reading good reviews decided to order a pair of these in size 9 (EU 42). I'm tall and have slim calves and so, seem to have difficulty finding boots that don't feel like wellies flapping around my legs! The comments about these were that they were nice and snug fitting.

The boots arrived quickly from the seller, were clearly nicely made and of good quality materials. Fit around the toes was tight but being leather they should give a little after time but I was very disappointed to find that the calves are still made for bigger (not large) legs (which is a little unusual for Fly) with expansion for even bigger calves! You can adjust the two velcro fastener straps to tighten them up around the calves - If you do that, I got an inch or so of flopping straps left dangling which didn't look good or feel right. Unfortunatley I've had to reluctantly return these (Which as bought from Shoetique, costs £2.95 and gets deducted from your refund - Check the small print), think I'll look again at the Let II boots (which Fly now do in a size 9).

Loved the look of these boots and ordered them in purple, was delighted when they arrived as they are fabulous! Unfortunatley I can't get the zip up on my wide calfs - I thought that the velcro straps at the back would give a bit of leeway but I couldn't even get the zip up that far! The circumference of the boot at the top is 38cm, foot sizing is generous as usual - I'm usually a 5.5 to a 6 in shoes and the size five fitted perfectly! Beautiful boots and disappointed to be sending them back, so far have found that the Fly Vale and Fly Yeven boots will both accommodate my 40cm calfs!!

I was hesitant about buying these boots because of the cost elsewhere. Discovered them much cheaper on amazon and the ratings were brilliant so it swayed me. I can honestly say these are worth every penny. They are stylish and very comfortable, can be dressed up or down. I have worn these on city breaks where we have done a lot of walking and to date have had NO sore feet, rubbing or blisters. I really cant recommend these highly enough. The best footwear I have ever bought!!! 11/10

I love these boots, they fit well esp if you have slim legs. I have several pairs of fly London boots
and can't imagine buying any other kind.

I am 58 years old and love these boots. They would be so comfortable had they fit me in length. Unfortunately because of my feet it is just as bad for me having too big of boot as too small. The leather of these boots are very soft and probably would give quite a lot given time. I ordered a size 6 which was rather too spacious to begin with so after a while would of been massive. I class myself as a positive 6. The leather on the dark red and the tan that I also tried are much stiffer and thicker. Unfortunately for me fly size 6 are too bid and the size 5 are too small. Bring out half sizes fly and I would buy loads.

Been looking at these boots for several weeks, price a bit off putting but could not believe boots down to half price yesterday -so bought two pairs, the miltar and purple. They are lovely - well finished, comfortable (wearing the purple pair already to go out shopping). Normally I am a size 5 and buy a fly size 4 (the 5 always seems too big) however went with size 5 this time, after reading other reviews, in both pairs, and both a perfect fit.

Quality seems very good BUT they are so narrow in the leg - I have far too many pairs of knee high boots, ranging from KG to Gucci and usually don't have a problem finding knee high boots to fit me that I wear with jeans tucked in to - however these boots I could only zip up to mid calf. The foot of the boot seemed very comfortable and the wedge gives a little bit of height but would easily be wearable all day. Sending back :(

Top quality, attention to style details like the gathering of the leather over arch and ankle, proportions are perfect etc. I found them uncomfortable for the first 3 days. I had stuffed slim fit jeans inside and it's too much bulk as the boots are slim fitting. Skinny jeans are great and tights too. The leather is thick and of very high quality but it does mean that it needs a few days to soften. The plastic moulded piece that wraps around the back of the heel - it seemed a bit too hard and the shape really wrapped around my heel, tucking in right under my ankle bone. This was painful but only for the first 3 days. Bizarrely these boots have gone from ouch to "why walk when you can fly"! I am a slightly large size 6 but 7's are nearly always too big. I bought size 6/39 and they fit perfectly with regular socks - just no thick wool ones. I hope this helps. Oh - and the heel looks high but because of the platform sole the height doesn't feel like much. Love them :-)
