This book is so much fun - there's barely a recipe in it that doesn't contain some sort of booze! There is plenty of substance behind the chatty style and many of the recipes are very simple and real classics. You can almost hear Keith Floyd saying the words out loud as you read them on the page. Where else would you find a recipe where one of the ingredients is a whole bottle of wine....not to put in the dish, but to drink on your own as an accompaniment. Worth buying a lobster for!!!

did I MISS SOMETHING this book was a reprint of his first book and therefor rather old fashioned, I did not realize this when I purchased it

This is real food and is really just about the only recipe book anyone could need. If a new cook was given this book it would be a wonderful introduction to the art of cooking.
It is a simple and well designed book with sections clearly laid out and with easy to find ingredients. I love it.
