Product Description

Review

"Like a Restoration playwright, Palmer deftly evokes a world where vengeance is sweet, true love expected, and the race to the swift. A marvelous modern romp".

-- Kirkus Reviews --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Product Description

Charmian Sinclair appears to be a very modern young woman, running her own PR firm and a series of regular lovers - one for each day of the week. Weekends are spent with Giles, but when he falls in love with a neighbour, Charmian is forced to confront the fact that she is not getting any younger.

Simply wonderful 31 Jan 2011
Format:Paperback
Why isn't Elizabeth Palmer better known? All her novels are utterly absorbing. I have now read all her books and can hardly bear it that there are no more for me to enjoy. If Miss Palmer is reading this can she let her loyal fanbase of any more oeuvres in the pipeline?

A Compelling Read 24 Sep 2009
Format:Paperback
I very much enjoyed this tale of intrigue between members of the chattering classes. the main characters were typically anglo-saxon (i.e. quite chilly!) but it was an elegant and beautifully written story.

Escapism from reality 18 Feb 2000
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
Not a good book; I did not sympathise at all with the main characters and found it all rather unbelievable. Too lightweight for a good read.
