As a long time fan of Mrs. Watley, I , like many others have watched her grow and develop over the years. With this album, Jody is in full bloom.

Flower is a must have for any body who enjoys old-school rhythm and blues. The album consists primarily of slow burners, mid tempo songs, and ballads-a wonderful showcase for her strengths as a singer/songwriter. Though she does not possess one of the strongest voices, Jody knows how to use it to its fullest potential. On slow jams such as "Off the Hook" to the lilting ballad "If I'm Not in Love" to the acoustic "16," her vocal prowess proves why she has such a dedicated fan base and leaves one wondering why this album never took off the way it should have.

Flower proves that Jody is definitely a talent to reckon with-on par with, if not years ahead of, some of her better selling contemporaries.

As the liner notes say, "there is growing in knowing," and it is obvious that Jody has taken stock in her strengths and released an album that proves she is one of the finest rhythm and blues singer/songwriters around today.

Jody has bloomed into a beautiful Flower, as this album proves from start to finish.

Just wanted to write a few words. Firstly I am a big fan of Jody. There are many great songs on this cd but compared to her other cd's it's not her best. I was given this as a xmas present but it took a few listens before i could appreciate the cd.
Please don't be put off by this review, because the ballards are worth paying for, but there are better J W cd's.
