My dad listens to this CD often because he thinks the music is lovely to listen to and very emotive. If you've seen the film then you can really relate to the characters and feel the emotion in the music. I like it because I doubled Chrissie Cotterill for her stunt before the opening credits of the movie and I also played one of the survivors rescued by Robert Carlyle so it's a popular CD in my family.

The music is excellent and played as brilliantly as only the RPO can. What disappoints is the repetitive nature of all 18 tracks, hear one and you've heard them all. Four feature Ms Westenra's vocals and again all four are too similar. Listen to any one track and you would be hard-pushed to name it, it would have been better to have one long evolving work instead of 18 tracks. I had to keep looking to see if the track number had changed or if it was still on the previous one.

A great soundtrack! 4 Nov 2013

Wiseman once again shows us her incredible talents, albeit in a different light. Though she is usually a traditional composer, Wiseman decided to include electronic percussion in this soundtrack to add a more modern element, and to give viewers watching the film a sense of "This could actually happen today." On four of the tracks, Wiseman once again captures the ethereal and beautiful essence of Hayley Westenra's voice as an instrument in the orchestra, adding a unique a haunting new color to the music. Though it can be quite repetitive at times, this is, overall, a great album. :)
