5.0 out of 5 stars Still great fun 28 Mar 2012

Some of the ideas probably came from the early 1930's Tarzan films with Johnny Wiessmuller where Jane got Tarzan to fix a lift to the tree-house for example using a baby elephant to hoist it up. Now all of the modern historical themed sitcoms use the same jokes as the Flintsones did back then such as slightly changing names of fictional stoneage famous stars like Rock Quarry, Cary Granite and Tab Boulder.

They had modern conveniences like cars, televisons and armchairs but they were made of rock. Poor dumb animals were used as tools such as hoovers and record player styluses with a dodo birds beak but the animal or bird would turn to us viewers and say something like "Oh well, You gotta make a living"

I have got the first three series and Fred & Wilmas' daughter Pebbles is not born, until series three but there is still no sign of Barney & Bettys' son Bam Bam.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yabba dabba do buy this DVD! 6 Mar 2011
The Flintstones rocks! Betty and Wilma are gorgeous and HOT, Fred still bumbles his way through Stone Age life, and the third series brings us Pebbles, the cutest kid in Bedrock! One thing though, how come all the time Wilma's pregnant with Pebbles, she never gets any bigger?

5.0 out of 5 stars Flinstones revisited 25 Aug 2009
I loved this blast-from-the-past cartoon series just as much this year as when the series was first shown on tv...way back in the 19??s funny in a mad humour type of way, making references to events & things that hadn't occured yet,cos it is the stoneage of course! Homely scenes set in a Stone house, with stone furniture & the latest modern conveniences like a mammoths' trunk for a refreshing shower in the mornings,& for a hoover later in the day. Fred Flinstone lives in one of these houses in Bedrock, with his wife Wilma & their pet dinosaur & mans best friend Dino! The Rubbles' Barney & Betty live next door & fred & Barney are always up to mischief behind their wives' back. Bowling is what Fred really loves best, & he's the best bowler in Bedrock too! The wives too have lots of Fun & shopping trips without their husbands knowing, uttering the loud cry of "Charge It" when going to buy the latest fashions! They are all a little bit mad, going about their day to day business on a stoneage parallel to our modern life. Lots of hair-brained schemes & some touching scenes make for a loveable Cartoon series that is "timeless" & entertaining, also with the addition of an adorable baby Flinstone called Pebbles in the 3rd series it has the extra cute factor!
