Product Description
'Flight Mode' is the seventh solo album from Chris Garrick, the UK's leading improvising violinist.
Award-winning violinist Chris Garrick takes a break between guest appearances with Wynton Marsalis and Nigel Kennedy to release 'Flight Mode'. Taking his lead from Stephane Grappelli, Stuff Smith and Jean Luc Ponty, Chris Garrick has revitalised jazz violin playing so that it has been rejuvenated for the 21st century, prompting Nigel Kennedy to call him one of the best in Europe and for Maxim Vengerov to request lessons!
'Flight Mode' features Garrick in mercurial form, performing infectious lyrical music on acoustic violin and electric four and seven string instruments. Thrilling accompaniment is provided by David Gordon (Jacqui Dankworth, Respectable Groove) on piano and synths, Tom Hooper (Grace Jones) on drums and Ole Rasmussen (Duke Ellington Big Band, Peter Gullin) on double bass.
