4.0 out of 5 stars For horror fans only! 12 Mar 2009
Format:DVD
I'll freely admit to buying this film purely on the strength of the title. Having purchased (and enjoyed) various other films that end in "of the Living Dead" I thought I'd add this one to my collection.

Its awful. But in a good way. The plot is a joke, something about a deadly virus (surely not?) being transported on a charter flight, which goes horribly wrong. The upshot of all this is that there is an outbreak of zombie-ness on a Trans-Atlantic passenger flight. And here begins the fun. Awful acting, ridiculous situations (there are regular shoot outs on this flight, the plane's hull isn't so much as blemished from a bullet) and average special effects.

So what is there to like? Whoever made this film has a sense of humour. They must have. Its fun. It's just a good laugh. If you buy it thinking you are getting a genuine horror classic, then you'll be sorely disappointed. If you buy it, looking for a film to poke fun at, and have a good laugh to, you'll be highly rewarded.

I mark it down as it takes about 20 minutes for the first bit of blood letting. Watch with friends so you can mock it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Fun High Camp Horror 25 Oct 2007
By P. M. Connolly VINE VOICE
Format:DVD
Imagine if you will a cross betweem all those Airport films of the 70's and cross it with Return of the Living Dead and you have Flight of The Living Dead.
The story concerns a bunch of people (Passengers, Pilots and Stewardess's) trapped onboard a plane gradually filling up with the recently deceased. The story if full of all your disaster movie regulars (Stewardess in love with pilot, older pilots last flight before retirment,a young couple with marital problems, policeman with convict, even a nun!)
I prefer this to Snakes on a Plane even though I love that movie too. Well worth watching with friends for a good light fun horror film.

4.0 out of 5 stars (Un)Deadly Cargo 26 Oct 2008
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
A plane is travelling from Los Angeles to Paris. Its also got something dangerous in the cargo hold, something that gets released during a storm. Soon the passengers and crew are fighting for their lives as ever increasing hordes of zombies munch their way through the remaining unaffected on board.
Well thats basically the plot. Its really a mixture of all those Airport movies of the 1970's(theres a professional golfer on board, the pilots making his last flight, the usual cheating couples) and standard zombie fare. It doesnt break any new ground, is cheesy as hell, but also happens to be very, very entertaining.
Whilst its no Dawn Of The Dead, it does engage the viewer, and I know it sounds crazy, but you do care what happens to the remaining passengers. The standout performance comes from Kevin J. O'Connor who is his usual entertaining self as sarcastic know it all felon Frank, constantly coming out with pithy comments. The special effects are excellent too.
A very entertaining ride. 4 out of 5

3.0 out of 5 stars A good, cheap giggle! 10 Jan 2009
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
I like zombie movies as it would appear a lot of other people do judging by the rush of zombie flix that have flooded the shelves since Shaun of the dead reared it's brilliant, groaning, brain munching noggin. However, liking zombie movies and making a good one are obviously two different kettles of badgers - most of the new wave of zombie romps have just been awful exercises in how long you can hold off from pressing the stop button. So suffice to say I didn't exactly dive headlong into this one hoping for the best, but I'm glad to say I was slightly shocked. There where a few familiar faces lighting up the screen - no one major, but still welcome - which was the first thing I noticed, the next was that the acting and pacing wasn't as loathsome as most other films of this class - so on I watch, hot air hostess babes, kept watching, nice camera angle with some cool pausey, restarty, neck munching affairs, I was enjoying it. I couldn't believe my luck!
In conclusion I'd have to say a pleasantly surprising, above average, trashy, zom-fest which makes the most of it's budget (and where it doesn't it makes you laugh, for most part - check out that fighter jet!) also it doesn't take itself too seriously which goes enormously in it's favour. A good laugh but only at the right price.

4.0 out of 5 stars Zombies on a plane! 8 Jun 2009
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
If you ever wondered whilst watching Snakes on a Plane how cool it could be to have zombies on a plane well here is that film.

It isn't to be taken too seriously but its alot better than you can imagine. The plot is obvious with a zombie being transported back in the cargo of a plane breaks lose and starts eating people.

I did find it odd that apart from Kevin O'Connor who plays literally the same character as in Deep Rising, most of the more interesting characters are killed off leaving us with the very bland Megan the air stewardess, Paul the undercover cop, the celebrity golfer and his wife. This is when the film starts to get a little boring.

I would rather have had some of the teens, the pilots or the other 2 air strewards survive as they were more interesting characters!!

THere are a good few deaths including the umbrella scene and Emily getting smacked in the head by a golf club and then theres the poor asian zombie thats strapped into his seat unable to get a bite!

There are two commentaries on the disc from the producers and editors, and some outtakes which were about as funny as having teeth pulled (steer clear!).

An enjoyable, fun, silly film worth watching.

A gore fest of a film. As zombie films go this film has it all a story ok its not as polished as some movies but you have to watch it all the way to see if they get down.
