Betty Collis and Jef Moonen, distinguished authorities in the field of ict in education, wrote a magnificent book that gives you everything you need to know about web-enabled learning. They rightfully introduce the term "Flexible Learning" as it's flexibility (of time, space, entry requirements, and so on) in learning that matters. The book is rich in powerful, yet simple lists, grids and tables, backed by thorough research. Each chapter has its "lessons learned" that makes reading a learning experience in itself and supports interesting debates. I especially like (and use in my daily work) the concepts of the four E's (Ease of use, Effectiveness, Engagement en Environment) and of learning as acquisition and as contribution. Pedagogical themes are elaborated, economics of E-learning, all in a way that will satisfy both educational professionals and managers or policy makers. By far the best book on this topic I read in years!
