I bought this item in order to read my kindle without disturbing anyone. The advantages of it is the ability to move the flexible arm about, in order to get the correct viewing light. It is easy to switch on and off and the quality of the light is excellent. The down side is, the size of the clip. In the online picture it is clipped onto the top of the Kindle. If you clip it there, it falls off, you have to clip in on further and then it obstructs the top few lines of print. If you clip into the side again it obstructs some print. If the clasp was a little smaller then I would have awarded it 5 stars instead of 4 stars. Saying that I have managed to find a spot to clips it on without obscouring the print, it's near the bottom of the kindle.

Having received my Kindle 3 for Christmas, I ordered this light so that I could continue reading in bed with minimum disturbance to my husband.

I found the light to be much larger/heavier than I thought it would be, and it did not easily clip to the top of the Kindle (Or rather, it would have clipped on fine, except it would have obscured the top 6-10 lines of text!)
The light itself is more blue than white, which is fine, but I did find it to glare off the screen quite a lot.

Overall, it's not without it's advantages/disadvantages, and is reasonable for the price, but mildly disappointing. Kindle should come up with a transparent lit-screen like the sony e-reader instead.

Pros: flexible neck allows for repositioning
Soft pad on clip to help protect screen/casing

cons: Takes 3x AAA batteries, making it heavy (and annoying. I never have spare AAA batteries in the house!)
Hides top lines of text when clipped on securely
Light glares off the screen unless positioned in exact place

The clip to attach the light to the Kindle is larger than anticipated, because it houses the battery. The light works very well.

There seems to be a fault in the manufacturing process. The housing for the batteries was not finished off properly in that the plastic was not filed down enough. This meant that the batteries did not sit properly and I could not close the cover. Before I realised what the problem was, I tried pressing the cover down a bit harder and the lugs for holding the cover in place broke. As it happened, I had ordered two lights, but both had the same problem. I filed down the plastic on the second one so the the batteries would sit properly. That worked!
It's best to have a cover for the Kindle as the clip is rather large and wobbles about if you attach it directly to the Kindle. So with the advantage of hindsight I would suggest trying a lighted cover.
I also found the light was brighter than it need be.
On the plus side, it's a cheap solution.

I was so disappointed with this led light which I bought for my daughter for Christmas. She was very pleased with the idea of it and put in the batteries straight away, only to find the outer casing would not close with the batteries in place! The light did go on, the light its self is bright so I have given it one star but it will be returned today.

This item may look interesting because it is cheap but the plastic tags on the battery compartment lid are so tiny and fragile that they broke off on first opening it, rendering the object useless. Therefore I wouldn't recommend it.

Hi, I purchased the LED Light for my Kindle its the Modern Tech Black Flexible and its fantastic no matter if its dark or like me do not sleep well at night I just clip the Light to my Kindle it does not disturb my Husband at all and yet the light is sharp and bright but only illuminates my Kindle.
I sat up reading until 3.30am using the light, also there is no eye strain. I would reccommend this product to anyone with a Kindle who like me reads in bed and worries that I am disturbing Hubby or in a place where the light is poor, now I can use my kindle any time any place anywhere.
