Product Description

A grave containing the skeleton of ten year-old Amy Linton – missing for eight years – is found in Galleyhill Wood in Essex, and then Head of Forensics, Paul Toadstone, finds more skeletons in the same grave, and more graves in the woods. A reporter, who might have known something about the dead children, is gruesomely murdered, and the newspaper where he worked is destroyed by fire. Parish and Richards slowly begin to collect the evidence and put the pieces of the puzzle together, but there are other players in this game. John Linton wants revenge on the person who killed his daughter and destroyed his life; Alex Knight wants to escape from an unwanted life with MI6, but to do that she must kill Parish; and a shadowy organisation will do anything to remain a secret. As the body count rises, the Chief brings in two additional detectives to help them; Richards’ love life goes from bad to worse; Parish begins the search for his parents; and the detectives must mourn the death of two friends.

Can't put them down!! 19 Oct 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I came accross Tim Ellis' books while reading another mystery book by a different author. The main character gets upset when interrupted while reading a Tim Ellis' book with Parish and Edwards as the main characters. After finishing that book, I decided to find out if Tim Ellis was a real author and, lo' and behold!!! he's real...and I'm so glad I found him. His Parish/Edwards books are a great, easy read...yes, sometimes the plots are a bit over the top but, they hold the reader's attentiona and they are hard to put down. I love the Parish/Edwards relationship and their banter, and I can't wait for the next book to come out. Yes, I already read the first three. I'm an avid reader of mystery books - from Agatha Christie to James Patterson to Patricia Cornwell, and I have thoroughly enjoyed Tim Ellis' offeerings. Since I have to wait for the next Parish/Edwards outing, I am now trying another one of his books...we'll see how I like it.

The first two books are great but this one is a bit too stupid, and too many silly jokey bits ,but the jed and mary story continues to be addictive.

I love these books, they are not only easy reading but also the sort of books that you can't put down! But be warned, don't read Tim Ellis books if you have to be up and about early the next morning because you WILL oversleep lol. I read The Flesh is Weak until 2am and have to say the same about the first two Parish and Richards books.

An untypical murder investigation with an intriguing, flippant and eminently readable style.

Tim Ellis is fast becoming my favourite author. Read more

The flesh is weak
Excellent book - good twist at the end. Good balance of incoming characters and those who have left a legacy behind.

Flesh is Weak
Another good book from Tim Ellis.the characters are starting to take shape and the underlying plot of DI Parish's past is interesting.

The Flesh is weak by Tim Ellis
Quite a good plot but spoilt by rather weak main characters. The relationship between Parish and Richards is unreal - too much use of the words "you are so mean". Read more

Tim Ellis - Parish & Richards - book 3
I am reading all the Parish & Richards books as I love the characters and the stories. I have not tried any of his other books/characters yet.

Good, simple stuff but the errors drove me mad!
I have read the previous two Parish and Richards novels and both stories were good. This one was a bit far-fetched but since it is fiction, I will let it off. Read more

The empathy is growing...
Like other peoples reviews, I have found the series to be a little clunky in places. By that I mean that the relationship between the characters meanders along and then suddenly... Read more

Annoying, but readable.
This series of books by Tim Ellis are perfect when I want a quick, easy read. Although there are elements of the series that I find annoying, mainly the relationship between... Read more

Upping the ante from the first two books...
I've largely enjoyed all I've read of Tim Ellis's Parish & Richards series. They're not great works of literary fiction but pacy, easy-to-read, gripping thrillers and I presume... Read more
