The perfect training program,

I am a 19-year old bodybuilder from South Africa. I bought this book when I was 16 years old.In my enthusiasm I've read tons of other books in search for new information. The more I read the more confused I get. One day I decided that I am tired of searching for routines. From now on I am going to follow Bob Paris's programs. I am really impressed with this book. Bob Paris is the ideal bodybuilder. I don't like the look of today's steroid freaks. I like the natural look of Bob Paris. What really impressed me was the different programlevels. Bob Paris knows what he is talking about.

Very good fitness book,

The best thing about this book were the author's descriptions of the excercises. He explains them clearly and gives excellent tips so that you perform the excercises with correct form. My main critisism of the book are that the workouts take a long time to complete (2 -3 hours). Follwing the programme really takes a lot of motivation. Also, if your recovery ability is average like mine, the workouts take place too soon after each other and this can easily lead to over training. I think only if you have great genetics or are using steriods could you stick to this Ten-Week Total-Image Method. My physique was improved after ten weeks but I confess I did not do every workout suggested simply because spending 8-12 hours in the gym a week was sometimes just too much. For those with a busy life style I would recommend Mike Mentzer's audio tapes instead.

so many books out there rehash the basics: what exercises to do, how long to rest, what to eat..blah blah blah. this book covers these topics soundly - better than any i've come across - but does so much more. every week of the ten week program - geared for 3 different training levels - includes a section on motivation, how to resist the temptation to skip the gym and/or eating, how to build your will power and how to truly enjoy a healthy lifestyle. if you follow the 10 week program, your body and life will benefit immeasureably. the only downfall was that he doesn't show how to perform a couple of the exercises listed.
