For a band that were around for the best part of 30 years, it's incredible that Sydney based political-rockers, Midnight Oil, weren't better known in this country. During their time together, they released some fine albums and, although hardly essential, this compilation is a decent representation of the band's harder-edged output prior to 1987s "Beds Are Burning", the track they are probably best known for in the UK.
Only 4 of the titles here ("Redneck Wonderland", "Tell Me The Truth", "Mosquito March" & "Say Your Prayers") are taken from later albums.
A suitable partner to the equally fine "20,000 Watt R.S.L.", this collection consists mainly of album tracks and only 3 songs appear on both ("Don't Wanna Be The One", "Dreamworld" & "Hercules").
However, if you want to hear the band at their best, I would recommend "10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1" and "Diesel & Dust", from 1982 & 1987 respectively, as excellent starting points
