Although titled as a Batman book, this volume collects mulitple stories with featuring Deadman, Dick Grayson, Deathstroke and of course 'Batman'.

The concept of the flashpoint books is one of what if something changed in the past and everything is now different in the 'present'. The Flash-centric flashpoint volume covers the central story while the 'world of flashpoint' books such as this one serve as companion anthologies.

In the main Batman story here, in this alterntive time, Bruce Wayne was the one killed in the alley. His father has become the much more vengefull violent batman of this world and his mother has become.... read to find out it's a great twist.

While part of the larger flashpoint collection each of these volumes can stand alone as a interesting character exploration. The stories are generally well written and the artwork is excellent throughout.

Given this is all an alternate timeline, there's no real connection to the current ongoing series so the the flashpoint world stands on it's own between the old continuity and the New 52 DC comics collections as the event that changed everything.

Would recommend to any DC fans out there, just don't expect a pure Batman book.

Flashpoint: Batman is a great comic that takes a different approach to the comic book story of Batman. The story revolves around the Joker who has kidnaped the children of the city's District Attorney and this in turn forces Batman to take the case. But that's where the story changes, the man under the mask may not be the Dark Knight we know. This comic is well laid out and the artwork is masterful. I am glad I purchased this comic preview and would definitely recommend it to others.

I read the negative reviewers and I was not expecting much from this graphic novel. I can understand where the other are coming from somewhat. From the cover you would assume that this is a Batman graphic novel, it is not; there are 4 different stories set in the world of Flashpoint. Staring different characters of the DCU.

1. Batman
2. Nightwing & Deadman
3. Deathstroke
4. The last one I actually have no idea

Batman Knight of Vengeance is brilliant. It is only 2 issues long. The art work is in keeping with the dark and angry place that is Batman's mind. If you read Flashpoint you will know that this is not the Batman we all know. He has a more Punisher style of dealing with criminals. The Joker is every bit as evil even though it is not our Joker. This Joker specialises in killing children. See the great Dcu: Justice League - The Flashpoint Paradox [DVD] [Region 1] [US Import] [NTSC], for a huge clue who this Joker is. The story is the mayors children have been kidnapped by the Joker. The Gotham police department has been privatised by Whane Casinos. The Mayor tells them to get his kids back or else they are done. The timing of the story is after Barry Allen meets Batman. Through this current case Batman is contemplating whether to take Barry up on his offer on changing the world.

Nightwing and Deadman. This is a 3 issue miniseries. The circus is trapped in Europe. Since the Amazons took over, and the Atlantiens sunk Paris, they are trying to make their way back to the US. To make a living they put on performances for funds and food. This is greatly appreciated by the locals who have already lost too much.
