Five Minute Faces 14 Sep 2003
Format:Paperback
This is a brilliant book for a beginning or intermediate face painter. Each page contains a colourful display of the final results alongside a step by step description of how to achieve the face, then gives ideas and instructions for accessories to compliment your final design, from hats and headdresses to cotumes. There is a wild diversity in the ideas for faces offered, 30 in total, enjoyable for all whether a small child or an adult reliving their youth in fancy dress!

Having swithered for weeks over what facepainting book to buy, I eventually settled for this one as I have Snazaroo paints. Waited excitedly for it to arrive ... what a disappointment ... as another reviewer has said, you could get the same and indeed much better faces / instructions off the internet. These faces may indeed take 5 minutes but they only look authentic if you spend a further hour making the add-on costumes, wigs, ears, hats etc. So if you're doing standalone faces at a school event, as I am, those add-ons are not possible. And the overall feel of the book is very old fashioned - wish I had checked the print date before buying, this book is nearly 20 years old and feels it! Now having seen the excellent Klutz book, I am definitely going to buy that one instead.

Brilliant book, especially when just learning to face paint. It only goes through some faces step by step, others you just have to look at the pictures and copy so that is the only downfall.

5 min faces
I personally don't like this facepainting book. Not a book for beginners. Too many pages with just a picture of the finished face and not a step by step guide how to do it. Read more
