Product Description

Product Description

George is not pleased when Berta, a spoilt American girl, turns up at Kirrin Cottage in the middle of the night - dressed in disguise! But George hasn't got time to be jealous. Berta is in hiding from kidnappers, and she needs help. The Famous Five are the only ones who can protect her - but will they risk danger to themselves to help out a virtual stranger?

These classic editions feature Enid Blyton's unchanged text and Eileen A. Soper's original illustrations.

My 8 year old daughter wants me to say "I have read all of the Famous Five books but this is my favourite. I love the fact that George is always so jealous when other girls want to be tomboys. In this case Berta, the American girl who is staying with them, would do anything to stay as a girl but needs to disguise herself to avoid getting kidnapped. I also like the fact that it's based in Kirrin, as they are always the best adventures. If you've enjoyed any of the other Famous Five books, then read this one."

The tyranny of fun 17 Mar 2012
Format:Paperback
The Famous Five may very well be having fun, but I'm not having fun listening to the CD, nor reading this book aloud to my little boy. No, I'm not having fun at all.
